Jillian Van Ness

Jillian is a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) and holds the highest accreditation offered by the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC). In 2011, she discovered her true passion in the water and trained to become a Watsu® Aquatic Massage Practitioner in Washington State through the Worldwide Aquatic Bodywork Association (WABA), and currently practices in warm-water pools in Davis, California. Additionally, Jillian is certified to assist Watsu Levels 1 & 2 across the country.
Although she attracts a diverse clientele, Jillian is especially passionate about supporting new and expecting parents through nurturing touch, as well as infants, toddlers, and children. She is an internationally Certified Infant Massage Teacher (CIMT) and Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist (CPMT), and teaches group classes to parents and caregivers every week. She enjoys working with children both in the pool and on land and is a proud volunteer with the Special Needs Aquatics Program (SNAP Kids) in Berkeley; additionally, Jillian shadowed with the Pediatric Palliative Aquatics Program at George Mark House in San Leandro. She is also a preferred affiliate of Capital City Doulas (CCDC), a fabulous network of birthing professionals in Sacramento.
In August 2016, Jillian traveled to San Diego to become one of the first wave of certified instructors with GroovaRoo Dance™. She is thrilled for the opportunity to bring these prenatal and babywearing dance classes to Sacramento in the form of weekly, group classes.
Jillian is a Red Cross Certified CPR and First Aid Healthcare Provider, and has 550+ hours of training in bodywork, anatomy, and adaptive aquatics. In 2016, she also became certified as an Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program and Exercise Leader. Jillian has appeared as a featured speaker at Childbirth International's Empowering Childbirth Seminar, Sacramento Parent Magazine's Babies and Bumps, All About Baby's World, Healing Pathways Psychological Services, and the Sacramento Ankylosing Spondylitis Support Group.
In addition to her current career, Jillian studied to be a Music Therapist while at Berklee College of Music in Boston and weaves her love for children’s songs, play, and spontaneity into all her sessions with children.
