As human beings, we thrive on touch. Touch is the very first sense to emerge in utero, and is the sense which is most developed at birth.

For generations, cultures all over the world have practiced and utilized baby massage to relieve many common, childhood discomforts. As your baby’s first form of communication, healthy, nurturing touch meets his/her need for physical contact, affection, security, stimulation and movement.

Infant massage is simple, nurturing touch

given to a child by his/her parents and/or caregivers, providing the opportunity for them to communicate love, comfort, care, and support for their child through the power of touch.

Infant massage CAN

  • Promote bonding
  • Help your baby fall asleep faster, sleep deeper, and longer
  • Ease digestion, gas, and constipation
  • Reduce crying
  • Instill body awareness, self-esteem, and respect
  • Promote relaxation through the release of nurturing hormones such as Oxytocin
  • Ease communication by tuning you into your babies verbal and non-verbal cues
  • Aid in healthy weight gain
  • Enhance neurological development
  • Improve circulation, muscle tone, and respiratory output
  • Uplift and enliven you as the caregiver
  • Empower dads, grandparents, and other caregivers with tools to soothe and connect with baby in the early months

Classes are fun, hands-on, and typically taught in a one-hour, group class format over the course of three weeks.

what participants are saying

I sincerely enjoyed learning infant massage from Jillian. It was such a sweet way to bond with my baby daughter and watch my husband get more connected with her through massage too. I love watching my daughter look up at me or my husband with pure love and trust when we do baby massage now. She especially loves the soothing tummy techniques after a bath. Jillian is such a bright spirit and combines her vibrant energy with her outstanding knowledge and expertise of the human body and body work. Her classes are warm and welcoming. I would recommend them for any family as a way to bond with your baby and partners.

Jillian is an excellent teacher. We are very grateful to have had this class. I’ve learned some excellent techniques to calm and soothe my child through massage. We have immediately seen a positive reaction from our daughter. Infant massage has been a great way for me to connect with my baby as a father, and it’s really helped with her digestion. Jillian creates a wonderfully warm and friendly space. It was a pleasure to take her class.

As a postpartum doula, I have seen how wonderful it is for families and babies to practice infant massage. It’s a great way for parents to bond with their babies, to create calm and nurturing time for both parents and infants, and for non-immediate caregivers to create important connections with these new little people. Jillian’s class was informative, yet casual. I appreciated the open and relaxed feel that gave families time to connect with one another during this vulnerable stage in their lives and having so much time for questions and hands on experiences. Even with my knowledge of infant massage and years of practice, I learned new tips and tricks from Jillian and I’m excited to bring them to my practice. I’d highly recommend this class to all new parents!
