Watsu® is a unique, leading edge form of bodywork and aquatic therapy that combines immersing the body in warm water with traditional Shiatsu massage.

Performed in a shallow, body-temperature pool and without the weight of the body, your spine, joints and muscles can be manipulated and freed in a way unique to water work.

Watsu has been described as an incredibly nurturing and deeply nourishing experience unlike any other form of healing.

The sensation of floating through space and subsequent feelings of expansion and peace that result are difficult to describe in words or demonstrate in a photograph. Developed in northern California in 1980, we are fortunate to be one of the few capital cities in the world with access to a warm water pool.

Jillian heightens her craft to an artistic level with her care and attention to you in the water. Watsu is the ultimate in relaxation and the hour you spend is an utterly precious one. I have chronic Lyme disease and Watsu has helped both my mind and body forget my pain and disabilities. I highly recommend you treat yourself to a session for an exquisite and unique experience.

Watsu is an almost otherworldly experience. I had a few sessions many years ago, and was thrilled to learn that Jillian Van Ness was offering Watsu locally!
I have my own business and during the peak months (10 months out of the year), I work sometimes 6 days a week, 12-hour days. I book with Jillian once a month and it’s my time to completely refresh, relax and have my body gently manipulated in the warm pool. Though the sessions last an hour, I feel that I’ve been floating for several hours! I love Watsu and I love Jillian’s professional and nurturing guidance.

Receiving a Watsu massage days before my due date was amazing. Being able to float freely without the constrains of a massage table was ideal. Leading up to the final days before giving birth was an anxiety, stress filled, state for me, and Jillian really helped me to relax and let go of so much anguish I was carrying within my body. Shortly after my son was born, Watsu really helped relax my body into its prior self and allowed my mind the space to think freely.

Watsu with Jillian is a serene, soul satisfying departure from the everyday world. Being not only buoyant but also supported, held, stretched, smoothed out, invites the nervous system, tissues and ligaments to relax, release and reprogram. Jillian was so tuned in to areas that needed attention and how to attend to them. Emerging from the pool and throughout that day I felt a joyful balance on all levels, and as a new mom, I felt filled up - refueled - and able to offer even more love and nurturing to my little one.
